The first introduction to role play is by using the very familiar items from the child's life in the home. Caring for babies with feeding, bathing and dressing is well known to children from their own experience and also if they have siblings arriving.

Home play allows very young children to process the world around them, develop fine motor skills that will assist them in dressing and feeding themselves and encourage communication.
