Dressing up allows children to use take on other characters to act out situations and scenes from real life, storybooks or their imagination. It allows children to express a variety of emotions and helps them to see the world from a different perspective. This can help in development of empathy, understanding and communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal). Role play can be used to help children develop confidence in new situations.
